The Sackley Chase Sensation
There are homes you visit as a guest. And there are homes where you feel truly welcomed.
This one felt different.

During Modernism Week, the owners opened their doors - and it didn’t feel like a tour.
It felt like stepping into someone’s life.

The house was designed by architect Stan Sackley, with interiors by legendary designer Steve Chase. And you can feel that balance. The architecture is calm and clean. The interior adds emotion and character. Like one created the structure, and the other gave it life.

I remember seeing the owners there. They were standing in their space, very natural, no pressure - and suddenly it became clear: this home was not made to impress.
It was made to be lived in.

I noticed something interesting. I didn’t want to change anything. As a designer, I usually adjust things in my mind - move something, add something.
But here… everything felt right.

The light moves across the space, the yellow umbrella becomes a focal point, vintage pieces feel intentional, not decorative. You stop looking at objects - and start feeling the atmosphere.

And maybe that’s the real secret. It’s not about trends. Not about how much you add.
It’s about confidence. And knowing when to stop.

This home doesn’t try to impress you.
It just exists.
And somehow, it stays with you.
